PUSA COMPLEX, NEW DELHI - 11 0 01 2 Invites applications from Indian Nationals for admission to the lst Year of 3-Year Diploma Programme In Hotel Management and Catering Technology at the Govt. sponsored Institutes of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Calcutta, Chandigarh, Chennai (Madras), Delhi, Goa, Gurdaspur, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai (Bombay), Shimla, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram for the academic year 1999-2000.
Qualifications: The candidate should have passed +2 stage examination of 10+2 system or equivalent examination in any academic or vocational stream with English as compulsory subject. Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in the academic year 1997-98 are also eligible to apply provisionally, subject to the condition that they should produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination at the time of admission. Candidates selected provisionally will not be allowed to join /continue in case they fail in +2 stage examination or are placed in Compartment Age : Age of the candidate should not be more than 22 years as on 1st July, 2000Maximum age relaxable upto 25 years for SC/ST Candidates. Reservation: 15% seats are reserved for SC and 7.5% for ST Candidates.
Candidates will have to appear in an objective type written entrance examination to be held on 5thApril, 1998 (Sunday) at the specified centres (Code list-1). The Examination will test the candidate's ability In (a) Reasoning and logical deduction (b) Numerical ability and Scientific aptitude, (c) General Knowledge and (d) English Language. Medium for (a), (b), and (c) will be English as well as Hindi. On the basis of performance in the written Examination, the short listed candidates will be called for Interview which will be held at Calcutta, Chandigarh, Chennai (Madras), Delhi, Lucknow and Mumbai (Bombay). The final selection will be on the basis of the candidate's overall performance in the written examination and interview with weightage for participation in sports and successful completion of any hospitality Craft Course from a recognised Catering/Craft Institute. Decision of the National Council in this regard will be binding upon the candidates on which no correspondence will be entertained.

Application in the following format should enclose: i) A non-refundable Account Payee Demand Draft for Re. 400/- (Rs. 120/- In the case of SC/ST candidates) preferably from any branch of SYNDICATE BANK drawn In favour of "NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR HOTEL MANAGEMENT AND CATERING TECHNOLOGY" payable at New Delhi, Candidate should write his/her name and address on the back of the Demand Draft and ensure that Issuing branch-code and drawee branch code are properly filled by the bank on the Demand Draft.
Applications not in accordance with the prescribed format or in complete or unsigned or received without prescribed fee or without self-addressed envelope with postage stamp of Rs. 2/- affixed shall not be considered.
